Change, Courage, Purpose & Love

{September 27, 2009}   Jumpstart Your Twitter Followers

When I first started my Twitter account, I had never seen one webinar or teleseminar on how to use this amazing social media tool effectively. I did, however, understand the concept very quickly of how viral this tool was. Since I am in the mortgage industry, it made since to see what others in my field were doing and see how I can make it my own. So what happened next was amazing. I jumped up to over 200+ followers in one night. This blog is just about this one wonderful secret. And, it’s this simple: FIND PEOPLE IN YOUR NICHE, PASSION OR PROFESSION AND FOLLOW THEIR FOLLOWERS.

Seriously! It’s that simple. Networking is most effective if you connect with like-minded individuals. KNOW YOUR MARKET. If you don’t know your own market, you can effectively brand yourself. Make sure your content is valuable and make sure to actually interact with your followers. DON’T PROMOTE YOUR PRODUCT IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER. Promote yourself. Share your passions, expertise, and just be YOU.

I will be sharing more tips on Twitter, Facebook, & my favorite LinkedIn. Stay tuned…

{September 3, 2009}   The Fork In The Path

I feel like I’ve come to that place in my life where huge changes are taking place and choices need to be made. I have been a full-time loan originator for over 7 years and have recently became passionate about starting my own coaching business in regards to networking, social media and the Law of Attraction. As a young girl, I used to desire to be a motivational speaker and to write my own book. I always saw myself inspiring and motivating others to accomplish their goals and dreams. I never saw myself landing in the mortgage industry. In fact, I fell into it completely by accident. Unfortunately, due to the struggles our industry has faced, I started to not enjoy the business as much as I once did. The more that I struggled to keep my pipeline full and stay on top of all the changes our industry was facing, the more my authentic self started to scream at me to do something different. Something had to break or maybe I just needed a break. As some of you may have noticed, I have been very quiet for the last couple weeks. I actually took that much needed break and came to realize a great deal about myself. I feel like I am at the fork in the path that we all come to. Which way to go? I am going to follow my heart and take a blind leap of faith. I have been receiving a great deal of support during my decision process. I am so grateful for my coaches Josh Dunn and Pam Ballo. They have helped me in digging deep and getting over my fears. We often get comfortable doing things, even if we aren’t happy. Sometimes we have to get uncomfortable to succeed. My fears are not reality. I am going to follow my inspiration, my heart and my dreams. Please join me for the journey. Much love and many blessings,

Laura Thornton
